I have a GSXR 750 I got new in 1996, I used to do ride days but not in ages. I went away on a shooting trip recently and all the others had dirt bikes, worse still they all let me ride them, ktm, DR, XR etc. The property had a makeshift motocross track and I had a good workout, now I feel I could be looking at getting a dirt bike again. I haven t had one in a few years.

    I ride too.

Done the sportsbike thing and am now into the dirt touring. Getting more into just dirt now so sold my 950 KTM for a DR650.

No offence, but whilst the ol' Busas are renowned for their durability, performance and stability, they've never been particularly renowned for their looks! A case of aerodynamic function over form (which is to be respected in a way).

Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and even Julia Gillard was rated as 'sexy' in a recent mag - Ralph or FHM I think...

Lovely bikes....I've had trail bikes and enjoyed dirt riding Yamaha's and a Montessa, a Bultaco, then Road bikes for years, Honda's Triumphs, beemers and harleys and am currently between bikes.
Actually my wife has banned me but it's less painful to pretend I'm just between bikes.

Hehe... not going to enter the looks discussion since I ride one of these:

Bike of the year, but I am 23 years too late!

It's cheap, reliable, comfortable, big, fast enough, and discrete.

Used to LOVE trail riding but ended up too injured at too young an age to keep at it.

Just about to get this registered:

Has been in storage for ages, in the family longer, and will be my partner's first road bike. Gotta love a woman who loves bikes!

    LOL the man knows!!

Its true tho - the busa is not known to be a pretty bike as such, but us owners do try

Every now & then I do get a comment about it looking nice - but it all depends I guess on what each person finds nice, I am happy & that is what counts

Love some of these pics guys!! esp the older bikes - I can see in the future the rangie all worked up & then a collection of old bikes filling the rest of the spare room in the shead!!

    My current bikes are a 2005 WR250F and i'm restoring a H2 750 Kawasaki triple 2 stroke.

Love bikes, don't ever remember being without one, my favourite bike was my K100RS BMW.

Rode around Europe for 5mths on a K100 BMW that i bought through the European delivery plan, loved every minute of it and got the K100 RS after trading in the K100 when i got home.

Did a lot of touring on bikes ranging from my Old 650 Triumph Trophy and Laverda Jota and numerous other great bikes and did the Clubman ralley, Alpine ralley, Bathurst bike races and so on and so on.

All up around 40 years of owning and riding bikes.

    The whole family rides

I grew up riding dirt bikes and three wheelers - still love to own a Honda XR250 threewheeler or a Kawasaki Tecate 250 threewheeler - nothing like hanging off the side of a three wheeler going around dirt corners.
I currently ride an XJ600, mostly for commuting - do not do many long rides anymore due to a 4year old and 3month old at home. I like the sports bikes but will avoid them as I like my license too much
My 4year old wnats to get a bike - so an excuse for me to get another dirtbike or performance quad to go riding with him.

A current count of somewhere between 3 & 7 depending on how you count parts as bikes. No longer racing but have been competitive in enduros, road racing and plenty of trail and road KMs under my wheels.

Yamaha TRX850 nicely sorted (suspension & brakes) for the road, stock motor and pipes because I don't need to go any faster on the road.

Kawasaki KR640 single cylinder road racer, retired.

Honda CR250 (1973) road racer, never ridden, artwork.

TZ250 GP bike, just to look at and steal bits from.

KLR600 trail bike (rat bike) which would be interesting with the KR640 engine.....

Various bits that match some or all of these from wheels to frames and engines and all of the bits in between.

Hiring a GSX600R on Friday for a thrash around Phillip Island.

Keep the wheels on the ride side and out from under the Land Rover!
