1998 Honda VFR 800 (pre VTEC), red. Love the sound & very comfortable to ride. Rode a mate's 1098S Ducati the other week...... . A BEAUTIFUL bike but way too sporty for my tired old bones

    Currently we have a 2007 Yamaha XJR1300, a 2006 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom (undergoing repair), a 1984 Yamaha RZ500, a Honda CB350-Four (since sold) and the new Honda CB400-Four

The CB350-Four and the XJR (no, the tank of the XJR isn't dented!)

    The V-Strom (Desert Strom):

The RZ500 (currently in the National Motorcycle Museum in Nabiac)

They were all inherited from my son, Lee.

My previous bikes have been a Vespa 125 in 1960, a Yamaha YDS2 in 1968,

a Yamaha AT1E in 1970 (Elisabeth and I far left of pix at our house in Ceduna)

    Me, in Ceduna:

    Suzuki TS125 in about 1973 or so, a Honda CB250 in 1973

    - then nothing until the late 90s when Lee gave gave me a Suzuki GS850G. Below: After a mate bought and repainted it:

I followed that up with the Honda CBR1000F.

A few more years went past before I got the bikes listed at the beginning of this post.

A few years ago, a few mates and I went through a phase where we bought dirt bikes to see the bush from two wheels instead of four. I had a pretty tame Suzuki DR250S. My mates had Honda XR400's, Yam DT200, Yam TT350 and a couple that were truely scary to watch.........KTM620 and a worked KTM380.
We had a lot of fun over a couple of years, but we've settled back onto four wheels again.

    Cheers, Murray

I'm pretty sure they were available in Aus for a while.

Yes, they were available here, and sold alongside the 500/4. We also got the 400/4 and 550/4, which superceded them.

Well... I've got the Disco 3 of the motorbike world: The BMW R1200GS.

I've not got any pics of it but it's like this, only in silver....

Splendid machine, easy to ride and very comfortable. Quite handy as I do approx 45,000 km per year!

    In Britain? Crikey!

I reckon there's only 2-3 months per annum of riding weather here (those short bits around spring and autumn - otherwise it's too flaming hot or too cold and wet).

You must be a hardy soul!
