Here are some pics of my 1973 Triumph Trident, fitted with Peter Allen 3 into 1 (megaphone) exhaust and jetted up and tuned by Bobby Galt, later fitted with a black Bikini fairing and clipons, handled like a dream and had a top speed of 140mph, wish I still had it, Regards Frank.

This is my main ride - 1998 CBR100F - it has since got a full set of Givi luggage.

Nice bike. This was my previous bike -an earlier CBR1000F. I really liked that bike.

Off topic (but cool topic) apology... I am afraid not; it was an awesome bike, and I enjoyed riding it, but I am now a father of three kids under 8 and an ultra-marathoner, so I wanted to avoid the bumps and injuries that can sometimes go along with commuter riding - no matter how careful. See pic.

    Nice lean angle.

I know what you mean. I stopped riding for 20+ years when my son was young - then he gave me his old GS850 when he bought his first XJR1300.

The attachment is a letter I wrote to Two Wheels mag in 2001.

Now I have his last XJR1300. Blue ones are faster.

Nice, yeah, it is a great machine to ride. Cheap to buy now, and plenty of 'Bang for buck'. Typically Honda - smooth, tight & well finished. The looks of this machine seemed to polarise peoples opinions a bit, but I love 'em. It carts my fat arse around no problems, and is comfy enough to do 4 of 5 hours in the saddle without killing me. Not quite as comfy as my old XJ900, but much better performance, handling, brakes, umm everything.....

Got mine for a steal from my mate who did his licence for a second time on it - 3 days after he got it back from loosing it the first time, and on his first outing on it since getting his licence back. I think he was doing about 180 in an 80 zone - woops...

We had a lot of fun over a couple of years, but we've settled back onto four wheels again.

    Cheers, Murray

I remember seeing similar (or possibly the same?) pics in LROCV magazines years ago... (The LROCB had a reciprocal arrangement to exchange club magazines). Great pics.

    Hi All
I have the 650 VStrom (cant find a decent photo of mine but this is almost identical) and the wife has the 790cc Triumph Speedmaster decked out like an America. I am taking off Thursday for a ride to Emerald where I am catching up with a mate and we're riding up to Cairns and Mareeba, back down the Atherton Tablelands through to Charters Towers and back to Emerald again OR if the weather is crap, out to Longreach across to Mt Isa, Cammoweal and maybe across to the centre. I take a couple of photos and put them up when I return if anyone is interested.
