    Sorry BSF, we've got a crossed wire here .

    The anti-surge spring is the long one circled here:

    I can't work out how this hooks up at the carby end. You can see the hooked end floating in the air in my first piccy:

    Thanks BSF but now I'm more confused.
    Maybe my spring is wrong at the other end as if I hook it up that way, it'll be doing nothing as the other end is on the same link.

    I'll check it out on the weekend but thanks very much for taking the time to help with the pictures .

    I see what you mean. I think that spring is there to take up all the play in the linkage. I can't see any other reason for it.
