PT style Cummins engines - Like the VT190 don't use glow plugs. Some have a preheater in the inlet, but a PT engine will start down near zero Celsius without preheating, so most Australian variants didn't have much in the way of pre heating. The US version - the V504 and the later VT555 variants had some form of pre heating, but still no glow plugs.Quote:

The current model K50 - which has basically the same type of fuel system (but is a 50 litre V16, not a V8 truck motor), starts well below zero without assistance, but smokes like a bitch until they warm up...
It's an old thread, but my guess is if the injectors were ok, then a cross head may have gone out of adjustment.
