Briggs and stratton using oil
My ride on lawnmower has a 12.5hp I/C quiet Briggs and Stratton engine in it. It likes to drink oil almost as fast as it uses fuel.
Can I just replace the piston and rings or do I need to get a new cylinder aswell?

You won't know until you pull it down. It could only need rings, so long as the piston is in good condition. If it's not, then the cylinder bore could be damaged as well.
