    N16 Pulsar problems

Wife's pulsar has decided it doesnt want to proceed, no warning signs at all and just refuse to start on Friday. I have checked all the usual suspects like fuses and relays, wiring plugs/ sockets.
I have never replaced the fuel filter so put in a new one (in tank) and checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail which it does, plugs are only 5 months old but are dry so i suspect the injector circuit.
Injector driver relay i swapped with some of the other relays but the bastard still wont fire.

you need a scan tool of workshop manual.

check over power circuits. alarms-ignition switch.
simple things like crank angle sencor and air flow meter will stop them.

It's a long shot but check the cam is turning.
It may be a broken timing belt.
Can't remember if it was the N15's or 16's it was happening to.
This was just starting to be happen when I stoped spannering at Nissan many moons ago
    Cheers, Kyle

x2! We had a SSS Pulsar. Was a great car, and yup, one morning it wouldn't start. Belt was stripped. Oil ingress from that rocker cover that always leaks. New belt and gasket and away we went!

Just checked and there is no timing belt on this engine (1.8 DOHC ) and i doubt the chain has let go so back to the drawing board.

timing chain failures are common. I would expect a lot of noise unlike to old belt engines.

the way its set up is difficult to do so its a big backyard operation in the UK fixing up cheep tow ins.

1.8 is twin cam. but is like a Toyota with the second cam run of the other with gears.

Very frustrating, doesnt appear to be firing the injectors although it did fire briefly last night once. Fuel pressure is fine at rail and return line to tank, so i'm suspecting a sensor of some sort.
I rang nissan just in case ecu's were a common problem but they said no.
I have replaced both the crank angle sensor and cam sensor and still nothing - a match might be next .

Turns out the only key we got when we bought the car decided that after 4 1/2 years it would immobilise it , had the key re-programmed and all good.
