    Villiers NOS parts?

    Hello from Brisbane.

As a bit of a side project to my Series 3 restoration I picked up a Villiers 4 stroke motor and pump to get back into working order. Grew up with these small engines on the farm and enjoy seeing small motors chugging away at various tractor shows etc around the place. Figure that if you are going to a show and sitting around having a beer, it may as well have the familiar 'chug, chug, chug' going in the background.

Anyway, the motor goes and from all accounts has had some mechanical refurbishment in the not so distant past (bearings, exhaust valve etc).

Although they are there I would like to get a new muffler and fuel bowl and a gasket kit for the carburettor. Googling is usually your friend but so far hasn't been much help in tracking down a local source of new or NOS parts for Villiers engines. So, I would welcome any pointers to tracking the parts down in Australia, preferably SEQ, before heading to the UK sources.

    Cheers

You don't say how old your engine is . Maybe they can help.

    Thanks

    Hello again.

Thanks for those responses - appreciated.

I had found them with Google, but was interested to see if there was a local operation that might have stocked some of those more basic parts.

Norton Villiers made millions of those engines both here in Ballarat and in Wolverhampton. I figured that there might be someone around with a stock of parts for them. Bit like Land Rovers.

    Cheers,

    Hello again.

Not yet - I only picked the unit up late yesterday afternoon. So, haven't taken thentime to checkit out fully yet. Once I get the serial number off the engine I will be better placed to get the right manual and then the relevant part numbers.

For now it was just an interest to see if there were any small engine parts suppliers locally who handled Villiers motors.

    Cheers

What parts do you need? Pistons, rings, bearings, seals, gaskets and condensors are available. They are an easy engine to rebuild.

    Hello again.

As per the original post - mainly a muffler and fuel bowl at this early stage.

You can get them from the UK, but I was mainly checking to see if there wasn't something closer around SEQ. Ditto name of a supplier.
