What's this diff out of - British Car ????

I picked up this old diff at a garage sale. I don't like seeing things like this end up on the scrap pile if it could be of use to someone, and that's where it was going.
It still turns freely and has inboard hydraulic disk brakes so I'm guessing it's not super old.

Anyway, it looked interesting enough to look in to.

So, have I struck gold , or does it actually deserve to get chucked on the scrap heap .

    Can anyone identify it.

    Cheers, Murray

Rover 2000/3500? Only one I can think of at the moment with inboard rear brakes.

Looks like a Rover P6 De-Dion rear end.

Not strong, but probably of value to someone with an original vehicle.

    Thanks for the replies,

From an image search, it looks to be a Rover P6 diff as suggested.

When I get a chance I'll probably put it on Ebay with no reserve, so hopefully some P6 tragic can make use of it.

    Cheers, Murray
