Water sand blasting galvanised and aluminium

I generally don't see the need to remove all paint before repainting. I give it a good sand to sand off the imperfections and also remove any loose paint. My theory is that if the paint is stable enough to withstand a good sand and prep, it is stable enough to sit happily under any paint layer...
