Was that because that is the opposite to what he chose?
I'm sorry but I have some huge issues with Andrew. I have very little respect for someone that goes out of his way to cause trouble and arguments within the community. Over the years I have seen him recommending unsafe practices that I just can't tolerate.
On the topic of roof racks, I think I have also chosen Rhino Rack after my research over the last few weeks since we picked up the D4. We will be going a Backbone system with the Pioneer platform on top. My reasoning being:
- I like modular racks
- It is rated to hold 250kg static (so a rooftop tent is viable) on the D4
- They have a good catalogue of accessories
- Making accessories for it only requires their nuts to be used for the mounting
- It is priced well compared to some of the other options I liked such as the Prospeed (I'd love one, but ouch)
- It looks pretty good, I quite like the look of the Backbone system itself
Now to find room in the budget for it amongst the 7 Thousand other things that are on the list!
