Sorry I don't know the answer but I have found many knowledgeable people on this US-based tractor forum TractorByNet - Tractor Forum
Hello, not sure if this is the right area to post this?
Is anyone familiar with Ford 1520 tractors?
Dads has broken down at the bottom of the property, it won't start so we need to tow it up the driveway. It is a hydrostatic transmission however, I know there will be a tow bypass switch or lever and a way to disengage the hydrostatic.
I have been searching for days on the internet trying to find where these might be on said tractor but internet being dumb and rather give me information on the hydraulics
Need to get it up the hill before creek has any crazy flooding

While I’m not sure on your tractor I can recommend a call to Brett from Eastman Tractor Parts on 1800 372 787 - he’s a very helpful and knowledgeable chap - he’s assisted me with advice and parts for my MF165 on multiple occasions.

I have a couple of fords, but they are the bigger tractors, which are actually ford. Yours and other small ford models were made by Shibaura of Japan, for Ford. You may have a bit of luck googling it as a Shibaura.
My little JD ride on, has a lever poking out the rear end to disengage. A quick google about towing hydro tractors in general, suggests putting it into Neutral, if you have such a position..and towing at walking pace. I would confirm that with someone other than forums before doing it though.
