Agreed. My guess is the Ford Australia Engineers are nervous about this engine but really have no other choice for a diesel. They are definitely taking a leaf out of the Toyota book for how to achieve reliability.
The F-150 with the 3.0 TDV6 wasn’t very popular and wasn’t seen as being good for towing (despite having the higher power rating).
The 3.5L twin-turbo V6 Petrol would be a good alternative for the recreational market. More power and more torque.
I wish Ford success with the Ranger Super Duty and hope they do look to bring out a “hero” truck with decent power and torque for the recreational market.
