Have you still got the old springs,, I’d be putting them in for the trip if you can’t find another leaf for the parabolic.
If you can get your spring set to a spring workshop, they may be able to make you a new leaf, and may even fit it up for you.
My series 3 Stage 1 4BD1 powered Land Rover has broken the top front left Parabolic spring.
My question is I have to make an urgent trip later this week and the price of these springs from the UK delivered is half the price or less than bought here. (and I am sure they are the same ones brought over from there)
The axle only sits 1" off the bump stop anyway (I am sure the 4BD1 is too heavy for these springs but keep getting told otherwise)
Would it make the trip or just courting disaster? Worst that could happen is the other breaks and rides on the bump stop?
Experienced comments please.

Where's the leaf broken - in front or behind the axle? If it's behind I wouldn't be too worried as it's still complete in front where it pivots from the chassis and won't effect tracking. As long as the spring centre bolt is intact. The top leaf should be captured in the eye of the 2nd leaf anyhow and won't move far. It might make a bit of clatter on corrugations though.

Thanks for the replies.
It is broken in front of the axle.
I am going to repair it tomorrow and fit another spring on top of each side for the trip.
Will order the new spring from the UK tomorrow night.
Cheers.
If V.N. from Macquarie Park is a member here, I hope he chokes on all the 4BD1t's he bought at the action. Forced every pensioner out and took most of them.
I guess he does conversions?
Oh well have to keep saving for another 2 years by the look of this chaps poor form.........

Sorry, No idea what Brand. The bloke who sold me the vehicle raved about them. But I thisnk he was bil****ting me as they were only 1" off the bump stop and I guess worn out with the weight of the 4BD1.
With the new ones I am going to fit the bottom old spring under the new onse and the modified spring on top to cope with the weight. I am also going to fit a 4th spring to the rear ones.
The replacements are from Paddock spares UK only 97GBP for the front pair.!!!
The broken parabolics were Rocky Mountain. Both on the LHS had snapped. Thanks God for the Bump stops.
