    Had that feeling a few times in the past now - and its not pleasant... Worst one for me was when I rolled my hilux waaaay out in the middle of nowhere with no one around =/ (turfer winch saved the day). Anyways, my parent-in-laws own a '08 Triton and they do about 30k kms a year of 90% gravel driving, often with the tray loaded up to the limit - they live in a very remote part of NZ. Their one is a diesel and has factory fitted rear difflock (which is great). First thing they did after buying it was to put some coopers on it. Its no P38 for class and comfort - but pretty capable all round and seems good value

    **** that's funny adm333, I literally fell off my chair reading that!

    Hey Aussie that sounds like a very familiar list, to yours I have to add:

    - new short motor;
    - LPG conversion;
    - Rear Pads;
    - Air, Oil & Fuel Filters, Plugs, oil, leads;
    - Numerous relays & fuses.

    And soon:

    - Heater core temp sensor;
    - Fan Belt;
    - Fan Viscous coupling;
    - Timing cover seal;
    - Pollen Filters;
    - Replace diff oils;
    - Grease & lube all the rest!

    You wanna catch up for that beer next weekend some time? Any other Melbourne RR tragics wanna meet up for a few frothies?

    I'm not game to add up what i've done!!

    Add on:
    - New Engine
    - New Gearbox
    - Viscous Coupling
    - Gearbox Cooler
    - Alternator

    Why do we punish ourselves like this!! I'm starting to wonder whether I should part mine out and buy a house.

    It's coming up to 3 1/2 years for mine now.

    Let's see what I've replaced......
    1 x airspring (supplied by PO)
    Full set of discs & pads
    Centre muffler
    Engine oil cooler hose
    Accumulator

    I don't think I've hit $1000 yet .
    Mind you, the PO spent about $35000 in the 3 years prior to my ownership .

    Well I hope for your sake you were not only touching wood when you wrote that, but you were sitting on a wooden chair, at a wooden desk, with a wooden mouse and a wooden keyboard ........

    Stubee, If you didn't buy the house first you will probably never find the coin especially with constantly dropping dollars into these things! But hang on, how did you afford those repairs with out a second mortgage anyway!?! Dave & pig

    There is a new VW dual cab coming out this year, if you are looking for that type of vehicle its probably worth a look, supposed to be in competition with the Hilux.

    Nice looking ute. Maybe I'll consider trading in the Crewman Cross6 for one if the price is right.

    A bloke has gotta have a ute

    Rangie is staying though... I can't get by without my Rangie
