    Just bought p38 - need help

    Hi all ive just baught a p38 1997 model as my D2 has just been written off and was wondering where the OBD2 plus is or weather they use a different dongle, also the auto when selecting gears, the leaver doesn't let you select anything but park, reverse and third. the leaver will physically move to all spots but it wont come up on the dash with first, second or neutral. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    The OBD2 connector is situated on the passenger footwell under and at the back of the dash, just above where your right foot would be.

    Hey there mate!!!

    Good on ya welcome to the p38 club!!!

    My trans did the same thing when I had my car sitting in water up to the sills for a while!! when i finally got it out of the water, I had the same although i was in low range at the time. So i had Park reverse and third in low range till the thing dried out I removed the plug that connects the trans and sprayed liberally with contact cleaner, It worked, might be worth a try!
