Hi All, tailgate won't open, any common faults/fixes??
Meant the bottom half, top half does. I can hear the solenoid(s).
Mine sticks occasionally and i need to give it a nudge. Guessing you've already tried that?
If you can hear the solenoids going then it is probably a broken cable that connects the solenoid to the catch mechanism. Had that happen on my D3. Easy DIY fix once you get pass the difficult access problem to get the door to open.
if you can't hear/feel the solenoid trying to work, it is most likely a broken wire or contact. You can force the inner lower tailgate cover off but you may break it and the surrounding trim in the process. At least then you will be able to access the back of the button and remove it for closer inspection.
I have a "spare" button here if you want to borrow it... you have my number.
Cheers
Paul.

Flat battery... enough to move the solenoid, but not enough to move it enough to open. All good.
Nobel AB gelatine dynamite. Use a very small charge.
