We'll soon find out! I'm in the process now of charging the battery, once that's done it'll be game on! If i can find the bloke who took the videos i'll put em up on the net... He definitly got one of my rangie going through that creek the first time, i'm not too sure if he got it the second time!
My dear 2000 HSE ran and drove. With more airing out the Gearbox ECU would have been readable by Faultmate, as with the Bosch EMS and other ECU's, but after I cleaned the engine up and got it fired up, i could tell she wasn't happy. It sounds as though the engine must have been running when it swallowed the water and as a result I think it's bent a few valves.
The insurance company wrote it off...
So now i'm getting another! And i'll put up pics up when I get it (in just over a week's time).
Cheers

that sucks about the write-off mate... let me guess, you are also insured with NRMA?
Looking forward to seeing the pics of your new one.
Cheers, Paul.
Not NRMA, but it is one of the big ones...
That bothers me not - i've got my eyes on a very nice '98 one down south! I was hoping to stick above the '99 mark, but for the condition this car is in and the price, this is one Rangie that I simply cannot knock back!
Cheerio!
Keithy
If that falls through, I know of a slightly battered blue 1999 4.0 with a "few options":o that might fit the bill ;)
Cheers, Paul.
I'd like that car, but i'm a show pony - i love my paintwork to be pristine! I'm leaning towards GEMS simply for the price factor... And I might just get air lockers front and rear if I do! Not a fan of the rear-only traction control!
And I should hopefully have change enough to get myself a hard range lift kit :-)
hey there guys,
that is some serious deep water without some mods, so yes you are definately a brave brave man.
For a fairly stock vehicle you did well to get as far as you did, but next time chuck a set of mud terrains on and a raised air intake...
but impressed with how deep it was
RAZ
Ha ha, it wasn't that deep when i went into it! It would have only been about a metre deep! I crossed it going the other way without a drama, going back was not a good idea!!
The car sold at auction today for $4500 to some lucky lad!
Cheers
