When one costs it all out, buying a custom rack is probably cheaper than buying 3 Rhino crossbars and feet (approx $650) and a rack to bolt to it (approx $1000). Both are overpriced.

I currently have 3 ProRack Whispbars on mine and was thinking a Rhino or similar might be the go. I currently have an Aldi half basket which was under 100 bucks

I winder if tradesman would make a rack to a spec? They obviously have the measurements and have done it before.

One thing, as you mentioned, would be taller mounting brackets

I've been thinking a few times about roof cage. I made enquiries about a Hannibal one I think it was. Not so cheap so it made me think do I really need one until I do a big trip up north. Have almost bought a set of 3 roof racks but stinged out each time because of no essential need for them at the moment.

But I'd consider a roof cage if you find anything though so keep me posted.

I bought a steel 4' roof basket/cage which bolts straight onto the existing two roof bars. IIRC was about $75 on special at one of the usual outlets. Used it just for the second spare, a couple of folding camping chairs, folded tarps etc. I don't leave it permanently attached.

I just run 3 Rola racks with a Rola cage...

The pick with the cage in situ. I 99% of the time run around with just the racks on.

I have thought of building my own cage so it covers all three racks.

I will be interested in seeing what you guys come out with.

    roof rack

I bought a Tradesman roof rack and I'm mostly happy with the purchase
I had it customised a bit with arial and light mounting tabs, sunroof cut out and light bar. It comes off easy with the cordless and two people as its quite strong but light weight. I don't like the fact the wind shield doesn't wrap around the sides like I've seen on other rr and the fact the perspex warps in the very hot days (returns to shape once cool !) The people were professional and friendly
and it cost approx $ 1500 Its the steel model not alu

    Cheers

I was looking at this one a couple of years ago but in the end I decided it was an overkill for what I needed. So I have now got Thule racks and a tubular Rola cage when needed (all up around $250).

Below is a link to the USA manufacturer.

At the time I made contact with The company and the price was negotiable and shipping was quite reasonable (just can't remember the price). They had originally put the rack on eBay to get some exposure.
