Big Thanks to Andy & Paul @ Hard Range

Andy did it for me in a couple of hours back before they were involved in HRA. It wasn't hard to do as the chassis rails are the same distance apart. We essentially took off the airbag crush cans off both the bar and the car brackets and welded the two brackets together after a bit of lining up and measuring. One could argue that the bar might set off the airbags in the event of a low speed crash but i highly doubt it and after much research into the topic i see no issue with the bar going off when it is supposed to in the event of a crash. If you are at all concerned i would buy a HRA bar now double hoop and winch/SRS compliant and better priced since Paul and Andy have taken over.

Hi Ron,

The steering wheel puts out an analogue signal with slightly different voltages for each button. I simply tapped the grey/orange wire which is the steering control and then hooked that to the steering control wire on my cheap chinese stereo. Then within the stereo i could press each button and assign it a function. It works a treat and stereo seems to be holding up OK. I am sure there are better quality ones out there with the same function. I am hoping to come to the show on the 25th and can show you if you like. The Nexia kit is certainly a neater option. The other option is to find another stereo which has amp preout rather than an amplified signal. The one that was in my car when i bought it was a clarion like this and wired straight into the speaker wires without the need for an attenuator but most of the stereo besides radio was stuffed.

I am loving this cheap chinese stereo. Mucking around with the GPS i have managed to swap it over to now opening Oziexplorer or other .exe WinCE navigation programs. Screenshot showing the moving map with a local topo map.

the best fit bull bar is the HARD RANGE one, i fitted mine myself, with out any special tools just a couple of spanners, they are designed specifically for P38 so no hassles with fitment. Also they are LIGHT, and strong, steel is much heavier cusing more pressure on your front air springs.
