Yes, I have tried all those things....what I don't understand is the different stories I keep getting in regards to this diagnostic system. One person tells me yes it can be done, then the next says it can't....I just hope this guy at AMV actually knows what he is talking about....he seems very confident.

Guys at AMV Ringwood are generally pretty good from my experience. However I've never had to use the Service Department... just the Spare Parts Desk.

I'm not sure where you are located but if your Rangie is GEMS (95-98) and you want to see if we can see anything from a Nanocom Computer Diagnostic, come up to Kinglake

I sourced the ECU and inverter switch from Matar Motors in Altona Nth. He advertises on Ebay a lot. I actually bought a second hand front bumper from him for $200 (a roo got the old one) and two headlight assemblies in good conditionfor $160. He seems like a nice chap and is currently looking for a warehouse to expand his business.

Yeap... purchased from him myself... Difficult to be certain a Cruise ECU is working though... If you wanted you could try one from here as well and see if that helps...

It's not a diagnostic system, it's a diagnostic procedure & it's direct from Land Rover themselves. It's in the official Land Rover Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM).

It's a series of tests which simulate what the ECU should do. The ECU is unplugged & various pins are bridged & you see/hear what happens when it should. When you find something that doesn't happen when it should, you're on the track to finding the actual cause of it.

Well, if I get the procedure I will try it myself. If I still cant figure it out I will handball it to someone else to fix and hope it won't cost me the earth!

Just re reading your messages and a thought occurred to me.....are you in a business there with Land Rover/Range Rover parts? If so, I am looking for a RH fog light....they seem to be hard to source....unless I buy new at $245.....not likely!

    Stuart:
Generally your best bet for those is Ebay UK... Probably cost you $100AUD shipped here....

e.g: LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER P38 DRIVERS FRONT FOG LIGHT | eBay
