    Clarion Radio

Hi guys brand new to this Forum and apologise if i have placed this in the wrong thread, .

My Clarion radio cassette for the 97 P38 that goes with the stacker has an issue and after checking out the other forums i understand its a major issue.

So i wont even bother asking any questions on how to fix or aftermarket replacements as i know its been done many times before.

My first P38 and after having a few classics i have some knowledge of rangies but not the P38,I have made a few great contacts allready that have been a great help .

Any help will allways be appreciated.
    cheers

As this is your first post, we'll cut you some slack but adverts must be in the Markets area http://www.aulro.com/apc/

I've edited your post to remove the advert.

After that, welcome to the forum and P38A ownership.

What are the symptoms with the radio?

You may be able to buy one from Andew E on this forum.

cheers i will take that onboard. the radio screen turns on and is just green , nothing else, cannot get it to do anything. i see the guys at roverville in the UK can do a repair at a reasonable cost.

dont really want to change to aftermarket, if i can avoid it .
being the first P38 i have had i would like it to be standard, that way i can keep busy fixing things.

Next problem when i lock the doors and then unlock them the passenger door allways comes up as a fault ( LH DOOR OPEN) on the screen, i then have to open and close it prior to moving.

only does it after being locked.

Or Roverville in the USA or even Clarion in Melbourne. I recall that Scouse on this forum had his repaired in Melbourne.

I assume it's not just an issue of the wrong PIN being entered too many times. Everytime the incorrect code is entered, the delay time to get access to enter the code again is doubled.

Mine needed a new LCD screen so I bought the new screen and new light bulbs from Clarion in Melbourne and repaired mine.

John Brabyn and I wrote some of it up here: radiolcd

Fitting a new head unit in place of a Clarion is no easy task - ask me how I know. I now have a head unit that accepts an iPod internally. See http://www.aulro.com/afvb/p38a-range...kits-p38a.html

I had mine done by clarion in melbourne about two years ago.
Total cost was around $130.00 including courier both ways and was out and back in in under a week.
Very pleasant people to deal with from memory.

They're renowned for going wrong. I did this to mine and it has been working a treat for the past 4 months:

Mine was also a blank green screen and I thought I'd have nothing to lose, I'm not the world's best at soldering and in fact I made a complete hash of it, but it worked!

This all raises a thought... seeing as Clarion in Melbourne do fixes, does anyone know if they do Ipod cable add's like the guy on ebay ($400 changeover I think)? Or anyone got specific contact details (or should I just google them)?

I bought a phone cradle that also doubles as a transmitter for my iPhone to the radio - I've mounted it separately and hard wired it to the car's electrics and it sounds great! Cost me all of $10 off eBay inc delivery
