From Normal to Hwy high at over 80kph for 30 sec. Goes back to Standard if speed is under 55kph for 30 sec.
You can attempt to select Access high but will not go down untill car is stopped. Can be preselected 40 sec before stopping . Light will flash.
High can be selected but speed must be under 55 kph.

Just read the manual. I should be able to select 'low' ride height at any speed!
And it certainly should not go to Access while the vehicle is moving.

I don't believe it is possible to select 'low' or highway mode at all. It is automatically selected when the speed rises and deselected when the speed drops.
User selectable heights are access, standard, high, thats it.
The computer selects highway and extended.

Highway mode can be manually selected if the inhibit switch is 'on'. Leslie is vertically challenged so the our car stays in highway mode.Quote:

I'll echo the above, if the car is running, low height can be selected any time by pressing the inhibit switch and selecting low. To maneuver in access height (for carparks, etc) stop and put the car in park, select access height, once lowered press the inhibit switch and you will get a beep and message on the dash saying "eas manual".
Tis a long time since I read the manual, but I think that for the car to actually go into the access height, the handbrake should be on, all doors and rear hatch closed, and maybe even neutral has to be selected, possibly even the override switch needs to be locked in. Even then the car will/should automatically go up one level if you exceed about 20kmh. You may override the automatic lifting to the next level (Highway level) by unswitching the override while the car is stationary once it is down on the bump stops, and then depressing the switch once more. You'll get a beep and a message on the dash saying something about the EAS being disabled. You then get lots of excited beeps if you try and drive off and reach a predetermined speed.Quote:

What a wonderful system... it really is all things to all people!
It seems everyone thinks it works differently in each mode via auto or manual selection... I'm no mathematician but I reckon based on the feedback provided there must be 1,000,000,000 different logics permutations in EAS!
What I have always thought is a little off the mark from reading all this, I am truely curious now...
So who has the facts?
What I said is the short version of the owners manual! I have to use the access height method daily to fit my p38 into the garage. Handbrake not required to lower the car, just chuck it in park, I never use the handbrake on flat ground!
