Best Gaskets
I’m about to tackle the coolant and oil leaks on a ’99 Bosch injected engine. I’m hopeful it isn’t the head gaskets as there are no other symptoms to suggest it is, but you never know. This will be my first big(ish) job on the big girl.
Sorry if this is going over old ground, I know I’ve seen threads on this before, but I can’t seem to use the search facility efficiently and can’t find them again. I want to ask what peoples recommendations are in terms of gasket types and manufacturer for the critical head and valley gaskets. Also, which Australian or overseas suppliers are recommended for a VRS and sump gaskets, front crank oil seals and front cover seals etc.
What is recommended to clean the old joint faces and what make of sealant ‘goo’ should be used for the new gaskets, probably several to suit different applicatons.
What else should I be thinking of doing whilst I’m doing this and what other spares should I have just in case ?

Have a good read through this RPI Engineering web page, It will give you some answer's. RPi Engineering - V8 Engines
If I was to take the heads off and the front cover I would 100% change the cam, lifters and timing gear at the same time. Infact I already have a full set of gaskets, cam and gear waiting for the day.
My preference for gasket goo is Hylomar blue, but everyone seems to have their own favourite.
