From my limited experience with lockers I can only comment on my ARB type. It was fitted with a mate and was not that hard as he had a dial gauge for the backlash.
When it worked it was great but in the last two weeks its been leaking air into the axle. I have had it out to inspect and all looked ok and sealed up on the bench. Pressure tested fine. Back in the car 3 days on and it leaks again. Other worry was it somehow pushed a litre of diff oil up the air pipe and through the compressor solenoid.
If you start searching for answers Via google this seems to be quite common through various makes of vehicle and no one has a definitive reason.
I am not complaining as the whole set up was $500 but I dont think I would ever buy this type again.
