Air Con compressor clutch bearing renew

I have been chasing a noise on tick over for ages. Though I had found it in the tensioner and idler pulley bearings but after changing both the intermittant noise was still there to drive me mad.
I finally nailed it to the air con compressor clutch bearing and after reading a bit found several How to`s for other cars and some good videos.
I wont bore you with how to as the info is out there, what you will need to know is the correct bearing and as always a cheap source.
The bearing that came out was numbered DAC3052-3RR9x
There are lots of cross references but I made an educated guess with a bearing numbered..30BD5222 which relates to 30mm internal x 52mm external x22 deep double row. I got one for 1c plus postage of ebay. Good luck beating that. It was the correct one thankfully. Job took about 45mins
This job can easily be done with the compressor still on the car. I only removed the belt guard and top fan shroud. I used an oil filter removal strap to hold the pulley whilst undoing the centre bolt. Remember the shim when you pull off the front.
    All quite now. Result!
Here is a current bearing, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/practical...item53f24b7a40

And here is a link to a youtube vid [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrB3pMVD4Cg]Denso 10PA clutch bearing replacement - YouTube[/ame]

I think my Isuzu uses the same bearing. But it wasn't just the bearing making noise on mine. The screws holding the clutch plate to the compressor were backing out and everything was rubbing/rattling.

You know it's the bearing if the noise stops when the compressor cuts in. The bearing only turns when it's clutched out.

It cost me about $60 for the one bearing through a local auto-sparky.

    TD5 aircon comp clutch bearing

Thanks WayneG for the info and specs re above. I managed to source the requisite bearing from CBC in Mayfield West for $48+. A little dearer than the $1.22 you paid but I'm a little suss on the quality of such a cheap bearing. Hope yours works out O.K.
For anyone interested the brand is Nachi (made in Japan) and the part # is 30BG05S2G2DS.
