Insurance company is giving me $14K. I think that is a little low given low K's on my car. They have classed it as a statutory write off so not an option for me to buy back.

I was able to change out my wheels and tyres and grab my roof rack and awning stuff. I did leave the spare,

If you are in Perth and need a P38 for spares. check out the auctions you may be able to get a deal. I am fairly certain the engine would be easy to get working smoothly.

If you need any more details and an honest appraisal pm me.

sorry to hear you baby but you're lucky with the insurance, when i had my d2 written off (insured for market value) i only managed to get 11k for it, they tried at 9k but i got a bit more, this is despite not being able to replace the car for under 17k. at the time there was only 2 in oz for sale that matched what i had and the insurance came back with "market value is what a dealer can get an unregistered base model for". anyone with racq insurance be warned...
il be looking for a new insurance company when the p38 makes the road again, problem being quite a lot of mods (bought p38 for 5k and now owes me 40k), anyone that knows a decent insurance company in qld that does modded cars no problems pm me please.
sorry for the thread hijack and hope you find a suitable replacement.

Haven't you got the option of agreed value or market value when insuring your car? The agreed value might cost a couple of dollars more but is probably worth it.

I had agreed value on my old one, I ended up getting 14k from my insurance company when (in 2010) I wrote my 2000my 175,000km one off... When I initially insured it the agreed value was exactly what I paid for it, it dropped by $1k in the year and a half I owned it... Not very "agreed" really!
