    Stacker gone

I have just blown the second stacker in the eurovox. What alternate are you guys putting in. I don't have fancy phones, the stacker was good as it gave me a days driving with a full ten CDs and then camp for the night.

I suppose it will have to be one of the ones that will take a memory stick but which one?

    Hi

If you have the alpine head unit, you can easily hook up a GROM USB2 Plus unit instead of the stacker.

Then you can use a memory stick or a phone etc

Jim - are you sure you have a Eurovox stereo head deck in the P38? If memory serves, your P38 is a 98 model which means it should have a Clarion head deck with a C-Bus connection to the CD stacker in the boot.

USB or iPod connections are the most common interfaces for expanding music playback capacity, and there are solutions for the C-Bus. Unfortunately, the ICD Direct unit that I put in my 2000 P38 (Alpine not Clarion) does not seem to be available any more.

So, if you do in fact have an after-market head deck this means that a previous owner has already sorted the speaker and door amp issues associated with a replacement unit... so, you should be right to fit any single-DIN stereo that takes your fancy.

    Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul, you maybe right, the stacker is eurovox but not sure about the head. I have just found a guy (Albury Tele Fix) who tells me that he fixes them and seems to know what he is talking about as he immediately asked if it was error 99 which is the error message.

I would prefer the stacker repaired as 10 CDs is a good days drive up bush so I will give this guy a go. Car is with Ivan Clarke at the moment just fixing some rubbers and the cruise as I do like to use cruise up country, makes it easy.

    Hi Wiskey Mac,
I mistakenly bought a Eurovox CD stacker for my 2001 P38 & it dosen't fit.
It is a Eurovox model 1050 with a round plug connection, was bought off E-bay and was told it would fit my car,but it don't.
It was supposed to be brand new and it look's it.
PM me if you are interested & we can talk.

    Thank's Steve.

From another thread, WM has a 4.0 S which has a locally fitted Eurovox head unit & stacker combination.

Eurovox themselves are in Melbourne if you wanted to have them look at it:
