    Hayman Reece locking pin keys

    Hi

My P38 has a Hayman Reece towbar and the towhitch is connected with a locking pin, unfortunately I didn't get the key with the car

I have rung Hayman Reece, but they were no help, so I took it to the local locksmith who punched the number stamped on the lock into his computer but said nothing came up under Hayman Reece

I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions except to cut the old one off and buy a new one !

There are different brands of those locking pins - have a look on ebay and you may be able to identify the brand and follow it up from there:

    trailer hitch lock | eBay

If not, can you get a drill in there to drill out the centre and then you should be able to pull it apart. If not you may be able to cut the shaft with a thin angle grinder blade depending on access. Can't really do that with an ARB RR Classic bar though as there is almost no access.

    Bob,

Thanks for that, looks like a replacement pin is the way to go.

I have a high speed air cutter which should make short work of the pin

    Regards
