Looking at a 96 P38 wreck, the airbags only have 2 clips holding them in on the top also.
Maybe the workshop was not as lazy as we thought, but still....
Any recommendations for airbags to go into this? Either standard or up-rated arnotts or something? I will be doing my research soon enough.
Thanks to Gary for the front bumper. Looks like I am still chasing a grill.
I put the replacement bonnet on and it does not latch closed due to the damage to the bulk head front assy, I should have thought of that.
The older bonnet does not have a separate bolt hole for the grounding cable.
There's only one option for airbags. The arnott gen 3's are a significant improvement over the originals. Money well spent.
X 2
They are a more durable rubber as well.

X 3 on the Arnott Gen III's, they made a huge improvement in the ride quality plus the added benefit of more suspension travel.
We do of course want to see pics of the finished product (front bar included ;)) and if you are taking it off the beaten track let me know, if the timing is OK I wouldn't mind joining you. Maybe even get a few of the p38's from around Perth for an outing?
Gary
Where's the best place to get gen 3's?
$825 + shipping from USA... getting a quote now but that's pretty steep!
Lifetime warranty is pretty good though. Then its only the pump, lines and valve block that needs to be worried about.
Although 2nd gen airbags can be had for about a third of that price...
Decisions, decisions. Though possibly leaning towards gen 3 as I recall my old P38 handled like a bit of a boat
There is a used set of std airspings on gumtree Perth today. $100
Steep it is. You could get standard bags and be a happy man, or you could get Gen III's and ride satisfied, know that you have a lifetime warranty and solid bags under your Rangie!
Cheers
