What's your challenge?

What's your challenge?
An EAS Valve block reco pressure and leak test bed.
Rebuilding with absolute care and still getting a little leak after install is a dead set PITA.
I theorised about it with Marty (Fantom) a while ago but it got way too technical for my simple mind... have you ever put any thought to it?
P.S. Looking good there... Glad you're still in the P38a Pride!
I've never thought about building anything like that. I wonder if PaulP38A has - he's been doing a bit with the EAS lately.
A test need without the driver pack would be technically difficult.
Otherwise just a bit of nutting out.
Is the driver necessary? Couldn't the basic processes be tested without?
I can't see why not. Use the Rovair?. That controls the valve block directly after unplugging the ECU and plugging in the Rovair. I have one of these.

Trouble is, without the driver you havn't got the pwm control of the coil, and (from what I understand) you risk burning the coils. I imagine also you'd want to be able to test the driver unit as well as they seem to cause a few problems also.
I wonder if it's a 12v or 5 volt signal to the driver unit?
I forgot the Rovair still controls the driver pack - it replaces the EAS ECU.
Maybe buy a driver pack for the test bed.
So this is actually where I start getting a little light headed with it all... my feeble little brain doesn't like going into deep thought mode much anymore! I know yours loves that though, sooooo... will you accept the challenge Ron?
Understanding my role of "ideas man" is probably the easiest one here... and also that it's not a cheap or simple thing to do, if you contribute the brains/time, I would happily fund (or perhaps co-fund if others want in) the parts required for the initial alpha development and also a beta version? You can keep the Alpha in NSW and I will maintain the Beta in VIC (or vice-a-versa if you wish).
My intent for the VIC unit would be for free use by VIC AULRO P38a buddies and perhaps the odd money making reco (if I can ever get that organised!).
A bit preemptive, but maybe someone from the other states would like one too?
It would be a truly great thing. I reckon its taken me twelve in and outs (removals and reinstalls) and three valve blocks, a new driver, plus two new O ring kits (plus a bag of spare pesky one's) to get me back to "as new". A rock solid car.
That says much about me and my ham fistedness when fiddling with those darn pesky O rings. And perservering without "flattening" the solenoid valves - until I eventually did. And perservering without wafer fab lab standards of cleanliness - until I eventually did it in the kitchen rather than the garage.
