    Rear bar and Carrier by Rampt Customs

    Hi

    I thought I would start a separate thread for the Rampt Customs project.

    Where is the licence plate going to go? Assume a light is fitted. Impressive work. Assume tje mudflap will be tacked to the bar once the rear silencer is addressed.

    Hi Mate

    The license plate is on the Jerry Can carrier with an LED light on it. I am going to mount the light higher to give better coverage of the plate.

    The mudflap I am still thinking about, I am thinking something could be attached to the flange benji has left at the bottom, or simply longer ones attached at the top and pinned at the flange

    Hi

    Standard size 16" right now, but the bar was engineered to take up to a 33" tyre

    A set of bighorns on 18" rims would be nice to have in the garage

    I half expected to see a clone of my bar design. I'm a little deflated now...


    She looks good though. I assume sloping the wheel forward helps reduce the overhung load?
    I'd be interested to see how they ended up mounting this to the chassis. When I did mine I had to cut off exhaust hangers and drill through the chassis rail.There aren't too many viable options, unless you start welding cleats to the chassis. The original bumper mounts are pretty flimsy.

    Never fear mate, your design is going to be on another P38 very soon ;-)
    Just gotta be able to open it in PDF instead of CAD so I can decipher the bits!

    Hi Mate

    I gave him all the photos you supplied, plus your CAD stuff. However he is more of a one off type of guy, so he took a lead from your design but added his own stamp to it!

    He actually welded some nuts to the chassis to make them captive, and did not use the original mounts at all. I will try to get some more pics today.

    If you want I can print the file to PDF at work and upload it. It won't really tell you that much as there are bugger all dimensions etc, but I have colour coded all of the different pieces so it at least gives an idea of what goes where. The fold lines and fold angles are drawn on the lazer cutting profiles, along with the plat thicknesses.




    Otherwise you could download a free Autocad viewer program like TrueView. Usually they have a facility to take measurements off the drawing.


    Let me know what you need and I'll see what you can do. Gotta look after the NQ P38 crowd, we are a rare breed!
