Having owned a classic, which from memory was on Konis rather than Bilsteins, I still think the EAS gives a better ride and has better articulation.

It also has the advantage of "Highway Height"

That said, even one of the P38 gurus has had enough of the EAS :wasntme:

One comment I got on my recent LROC course when I mentioned putting my suspension up was "Oh that's just such a posey thing to do" .. I wasn't quite sure if it was a complement or not :p

I have to say I don't like the look of any 4WD sitting low To me it just doesn't look right but to watch a EAS system come to life and rise up to meet the obstacles ahead is just fantastic. That evolution RRp38 from Europe somewhere on YOUTUBE a classic example but coils rule !

I just wanted to add another opinion on the side of EAS.

I've somehow managed to never give up on EAS and have spent months putting up with leaks big and small due to not having the time to fix it after rebuilding the valve block did nothing. I have just finally fixed my final leaks and have managed to calibrate it perfectly and to the heights I need and I couldn't love it more.

Let me tell you, that moment that I closed the door and didn't hear that usual tick-tick-tick of it lowering itself... and coming home after leaving it parked for a week and not having lowered AT ALL... pure bliss... :p

On a more serious note, I really appreciate the versatility of the system. I've now got it running beautifully and intend to keep it so. At the risk of parroting other pro-EAS members, if you keep it maintained it will absolutely reward you.

Also, if you can be disciplined enough to not drive everywhere with the inhibit switch on and raised it rides and handles beautifully as you wouldn't expect from a 4WD. As soon as I get over my impulsion to raise it every time I see a Land Cruiser approaching... :D

I hear you mate! Now mine's lifted it sits in highway height most of the time... The temptation to lift it up two heights when a jacked up jap pulls up next to me is there for sure!

I must admit I once fell to the tempataion when parking next to a pootrol but I lowered it to access height rather than lifting it

The look on their face was still priceless :p

I have just joined the local 4wd club CC4WD Club | Respecting The Great Outdoors and they commented it was the first Rangie member they have had.

It will be interesting to see how I go on their training days and whether I classify as "lifted" ;)
