The problem is the front spoiler scraping on the ramp. Happens with most of the newer cars. As for that Evoque...
You foglight was folding back. It just had the smell of damage had you continued.

If the front lip was touching then I'm sure it would have benefit in high mode. But I found high mode tended to lift wheels easier in the bush. But maybe on a travel ramp where the rear passenger is on the bump stop and the drivers side in the air due to hitting the end of the shock then I can't see it being much different.
I reckon that rear drivers side had plenty to go though Steve until it lifted. Do your standard size tyres rub the guards? Maybe your liners aren't up tight or bump stops squashed as mine never rubbed until the 32's.
Just seeing these pics of your tidy P38's makes me think I really should tidy mine back up though. Wish I could have come along.
