    BECM AMR5406 needed

I have found one sorry for the trouble. i read some other posts and noted that Ron recommended AJG in Queensland who i have rung and they are supplying a unit. I would like to find someone who can repair my old unit so i have a spare if anybody can tell me who can perform repairs i would be grateful.

I was away and my wife drove the car one day there were no alarms or issues with it, the next it would not go, the battery was dead by the time i got to it which was two weeks later. I charged the battery and then when i tried to start it the alarm went off, the engine disabled light came on and it asked for the remote to be activated. I didn't have the remote RF arial connected as it had been draining the battery so i reconnected the unit still no luck. I tried several things from the AULRO trouble shooting guides but still no luck. I then purchased a Mobi=Lize unit to see if that would help, when you install a Mobi=Lize you are instructed to do a re=learn so i had a mechanic with an Autologic unit come to the house and run it on the car. He said not to install the Mobi=Lize until after him checking the unit. The Autologic could not connect to the BECM, he could talk to the GEMS, ABS,SRS but not the BECM itself. So in desperation we installed the Mobi=Lize as instructed in the installation procedures still no joy.
I then rang around for a BECM and was able to get one from Queensland which will be here Monday all going well. I have removed the covers from the BECM and could not find any water damage, burnt wiring, hot spots on the boards or any other issues. I used an Ohms meter and checked all fuses, wiring to and from the fuses and main power connections and am stumped there does not look to be any issues. All of the wiring connections appear to be clean on all leads and on the BECM so i thought the best thing would be to get it checked and fixed as required and have it as a spare.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the becm has probably had a brain fade from being spiked or as the battery has gone flat, the early 2nd generation becms (1999 ish) did have a habbit of just losing their memory. i can unlock the becm by hooking up directly to the board and reprogramming it.

Got the car sorted BECM was dead have a newer one installed and everything reset fuel economy is up and the performance is good so happy it all worked out in the finish. Leanrt that P38's need a bigger battery than normal and this lead too the demise of the BECM so i have now installed a 850Amp hour battery and hope things will be ok from here. The car has had some minor dramas over the three years i have owned it but is a result of age and maintenance not product i believe.
Hopefully i have all gremlins sorted now here's hoping.

Forgot to mention a great big thank you to Rupert Prior for his valuable advice and skill over the phone to get me going and instruct another mechanic how to work on a P38 BECM without his help i would still be sitting with a dead car.
