    low profile tyres

thinking of buying some 22" bling wheels for my p38 HSE but dont want to have to change wheels every time i want to fish on the beach.
just wondering if anyones had any sand experience with low profiles?
my reckoning is that the footprint will be wider than a normally deflated road tyre so theoretically should go ok on sand?

Low profile tyres don't have a reputation for being good on the sand. I don't think the extra width you may get from a wider treadface will compare to the increase in contact patch and flotation by airing down.

This is the 3rd time you've posted this question - are you hoping for someone to say "yes, great idea"?

I have a mate (as we all do!) who runs 22" rims on his Toyota 200 series. Dies in sand every time now where before it was half-decent. Even letting them down, the 22's didn't perform.

Not to mention the fact that he can't park and the rim edges have copped a hiding from gutters where his 17" factory rims didn't as the sidewalls of the tyres took the brunt.

    Cheers
