They are 2/3rds blocked from factory with only 5mm of pleat protruding from the edge of the end cap and a further 5mm gap from the end of the pleats to the barrel body , pick it how you like , makes no difference to me.

Not on any OEM lid I've seen and I've serviced plenty. I'll give you the air gap is bigger than I thought so you're half right.

cheers to all,yes A1705 is the one, soon to purchase. I cut the outlet off my old plastic airbox to leave enough plastic to clamp a rubber flex join on to it so I can clamp to stock MAF. The other end clamped on to new air trumpet. I had to take a few inches off the trumpet to get it to aim for the stock hole in the inner guard. i have joined the hose from rocker cover to a vent that was in trumpet already, I am yet to drill a hole to mount air temp sender....not sure how much room i have between filter and can.....i guess i will find out soon. Cheers for all info.
