    Signing off for a while

    Hi

I am going under the knife at 13:30 on Monday and it is expected that I will be in hospital for about a week if all goes well.

I have been poked, prodded, scanned while glowing and had an ECG, good news is the only cancer is in my thyroid and on one lymph node and my mastoid muscle.

Other good news is that the surgeon doesn't expect that I will need to go to ICU and he will do his best to preserve my 11th Cranial nerve and as much of my mastoid muscle as he can.

Once I am able I will join the fray here once again

    Steve

    Best of luck for tomorrow.
It sounds like a good prognosis; take it easy.

    Mate

All the best for you and your wife as well. Luckily for me thyroid cancer is one of the least aggressive and has remission rates around 95%

    Cheers !
It's a six monthly thing , she had an op in 2012 - for her birthday she got breast cancer . It's still there but manageable , so we check frequently ,any changes .
    Jump on it .

Hug your family and laugh with your friends .
