By all means run a separate temp switch to bring them in if the engine temp increases, but don't rely on this alone to keep the pressure in the a/c system within safe limits.
Also be aware that a temp switch in the top of the radiator tank is only going to measure temperature accurately when in contact with the coolant. If the coolant level drops for some reason the sensor will not operate correctly.
    Good luck

    Hi Les

I never managed to hook up the extra thermostat to the air con fans and never intended to bypass the control of the air con fans by the HEVAC/BECM/pressure Switch control.

I also have an engine watchdog fitted to monitor my engine temp

    Regards

    Hi Steve,
Good stuff, just thought I would mention it as someone else may have read your post and done exactly what you had posted, but without the knowledge required to make the mods properly.
The workmanship on your radiator and fan mounting suggested someone who knew what they were up to.
    Sorry if I offended you.

    Hi Les

Not offended at all mate, it's always good to let people know the outcome of these mods and any pitfalls involved

Steve, do you know what effect running 12v to both the low and high speed wires at the same time would do? I have tested them both, and they do indeed operate slow and fast, I just don’t want to destroy the thermistor on the low speed side by running full speed at the same time.

Just trying to keep it simple, but making it work efficiently at the same time.

Ill remove the ford plug and use an Anderson plug instead, I can test current draw that way Paul.

    Cheers

Ive been very happy with the BF fan, i used a FK45 varible fan speed controller constant temperature controllers with indicator light and taj module. I can also overide to switch on manually. I have the OE thermo fans cut in at 90c off the watchdog controller and cut off at 87c

Have not tested in 40c heat though

    Paul
