    p38 tyre pressure

was washing the p38 on the weekend and looked at the tyre placard.
it says 28psi for the front and 38psi for the rear.

28psi in the front??? thats seems a bit low?

i had been doing both front n rear to 40psi

28/38, the same as the RRC. I ran those pressures for the 13 years I owned my P38A and for the 9 years I owned my RRC.

I'll believe the manufacturer before the Internet experts. If I was travelling loaded and on trips, I increased pressures by 4 psi.

After every service at my Landy independent workshop my LSE is always returned with all tyres at 40 PSI.

Re the LR recommendation of 28 front and 38 rear.

I struggle to be comfortable with front tyres inflated to 28PSI especially when those tyres often travel [daily] on bush roads/unmade tracks etc. As a compromise I tend to favour 32 front and 38/40 rear.

But these tyre pressure discussions may mostly be academic given the error rate of the tyre gauges at service stations. I measure and adjust my tyres inflation with my own VDO gauge and use the service station as an inflation only tool.

The tyre places also seem obsessed with inflating all tyres to 40PSI all round.

They did it to my P38 and to a Honda Civic ... must be "one size fits all"
