    Bullbar

Tried searching the site, but it wouldn't find anything post 2008, so.....

Looking for an airbag compatible Bullbar for a 97 HSE, would prefer second hand, as some of the prices quoted for custom bars would make a sizeable dent in the national deficit

I have an arb airbag compatible bar off of a D1 on mine, just needs the crush cans modified to lower it slightly and it fits a treat, I believe the D2 bars are also a straight forward mod and fit but both are much easier to find than p38 bars.

There are also a couple of options listed on ebay just over the $1100 mark for brand new, plus shipping of course.

Found a genuine brush bar off a D1 on Gumtree.
I'll take some pics as I go through the fitting process.

The D1 brush bar is just that - a bar for brushes. Anything else & it falls apart.
In fact, on corrugated roads, the outside sections vibrate to the point of fatiguing the main A frame section & fall off.

IMO, if you're going to the trouble of fitting anything other than a bar designed for the car, start out with something decent.

Dead right, Scouse. I now have a D1 brush bar for sale

Got hold of a "Smart" bar off an airbag D1 instead, just waiting for the weather to ease off a bit, so I can start on it.

I, too have been doing the research on bullbars for my 2001 RR.
I am curious regarding the weight factor from the airbags perspective (so the thought process for the moment is to find out the weight on the standard RR bullbar and then find an aftermarket alternative.

Opinions on these thoughts would be appreciated.

The bullbar will be for the standard equipment (eg radio whip, driving lamps/bar).

I am also looking for a winch compatable bull bar for my 2000 P38. Has anyone had any experience with the Xroc bar.

The factory bullbar would weight about 15kg on a fat day.

My mcc bar weights 55kg with the winch plate.

You can feel the extra weight on the front, though it caries it better than a d1.
The eas doesn't flinch at all with the weight - they've a huge carrying capacity.

If you're running arnott gen3 the extra weight can cause the airbag to frett against the chassis. ... at least that's what has been seen.

    Hi Mate

Which MCC bar do you have fitted ? I assume it's steel and not aluminium ?

    Thanks

I have seen one with the Xroc bar - and the bloke seemed very happy with it on the p38. I am yet to be convinced on the look of it yet.
The front end looks a little "naked" like motorbike styling!
I am leaning toward a ARB / MCC one for mine.
