    G`day ,

    have a look at ADR 69 .

It will tell you about pre 1998 , before 01/01/98 and what can be used on the front .

We had an ARB non srs on the front of our Soft Dash LSE , the LSE has all but the actual air bags in common with the 2 bag P38A .

It was always in the back of my mind that maybe the bar shouldn`t be on it even though my interpret of ADR69 said it could .

One day my wife tested it by putting it head first into a bank on a wet road and writing the car off .

The air bags deployed but they have a very limited range i think 30 degrees so to work it has to be almost square on .

So the options remain the same, MCC or ARB. I am leaning towards the ARB one because of it's recovery points

There are more threads than solutions when it comes to winch bars it seems !

May depend on what he fitted , was it SRS or Non SRS ?

From this thread it seems a little fiddling is needed

    HRA?? Need a bullbar

    PaulP38A also says;

"andrew e" has successfully fitted an ARB D2 bar to a P38A with some TLC and skills.

Airbag compliance should not be much of an issue as the crash sensor is on the body, not the bar."

So it's more a matter of the physical fit it seems

From memory I think the crush cans that came with the bar fitted and the bracket on the bullbar that fitted over them needed to be cut out at the top to let the bar sit down, apart from the height on the chassis rails it's a perfect fit though. Airbag compatible bar.

    Bolt holes need redrilling.

    Hope that helps

    Hi

It seems the D1 and D2 bars are very similar

    Air Bag Compatible Winch Bullbar

"The ARB airbag compliant bull bar will fit either the Discovery 1 or 2.
The only mounting difference between the 2 models is, the D2 has a 3rd vertical mounting bolt."

    So that's good news
