Still haven't picked up the car, but I have a date, will be driving it up on the 22nd.

My old image hosting is out of date, so until it's sorted, here's a link with the few quick pics i managed to grab.

There may also be some dark financial clouds on the horizon, so fingers crossed I can keep the car, and buy the parts I need...

    nice colour!

I was stupid enough to go down this path at Christmas, my wife told me to get another P38 as I have missed my old one since selling it 5 or 6 years ago, and then recently seeing parts of it for sale on gumetree

I got a 2000, and hopefully it goes on its first reasonable trip next week after 6 months of odd weekends of dash out / bits replaced / air suspension fun / blood loss .

Good luck they are nice to drive

So after an oil change (was pretty manky) and some blocks under the bump stops, drove Perth to Dongara with zero problems. What a lovely car to drive on a decent road trip! Fantastic visibility, comfy seats, looking forward to getting it (permanantly) on the road.

    Same colour as mine.
Be patient with the electrics, mechanicals are pretty straightforward.
    Plenty of help on here.
    There are NO stupid questions.

    Howdy all,
Quick update, car is now home and has had a decent looking over.
First job will be some love for the EAS.
I've regenerated the dryer desiccant, and given the dryer new pipes.
The compressor needs a new piston seal, so will do the rebuild on that followed probably by a valve block birthday.
After that, front cover gasket needs replacing. Any tips for 'while I'm in there' jobs?

Just make sure it isn't the oil pressure sender leaking rather than the front cover gasket

Good luck with it - looks good in photos, well done. Dont listen to all the negative P38 stuff out there, Ive had mine 12 years and had very few problems really, no more than most would have with any 4wd.
Once you know them they are not that complicated or difficult to work on, compared to the fun & pleasure it will give you. The best part is there's a good bank of knowledgeable friends here on AULRO.

    now for sale

hey guys, well this didn't end up getting too far.
did a big parts order, changed a few things - window reg, spring conversion (sorry), then got tied with other projects (a recording studio), and now I've got a job overseas so she's got to go.
Another unfinished project, in the vehicle for sale section.
