    Introduction x2

Hi guys, I joined this forum a while ago in 2006. I had a diesel 87 classic which is one of the only cars out of about 40 odd that I wish I kept. In any case I now have a new 2000 HSE 4.6 in ok condition. I am planning on using it once a month for camping and towing the boat. I have so far rebuilt the valve block which was easy and interesting thanks to British Car Components, and got 4 new bags which ill fit on the weekend. I have some questions I was hoping some of you could help me with so I can get it camping ready.

    1. When I drove it home the bags were leaky and the valve block also, but the car was riding level in no part to an overworked pump, now after reinstalling the block the rear bags are pumping to max off road height (after the tank fills) while the front never inflate, I realise the car inflates the rear first but I have given it alot of time and the front stay on the bump stops. I used the EAS suite to do some things, it seems to work ok but some functions are not working such as a) the depressurise tank or bags b) the go to height buttons. Things that do work are pump on and off, and lock/unlock.

    2. As for software is there a thread discussing all the options? I am noticing an icarsoft unit on ebay which claims to do these cars. I am told this model is not OBD2 compliant uses a system that never became common however (the plug is the same shape as OBD2). I have a plug for the car and USB adaptor and would like some laptop software to interface with the becm.

Anyway its nice to have the Range Rover I first read about in wheels magazine and have wanted one ever since. Thanks in advance

Welcome to AULRO & P38 Life once bitten twice shy they say although second time around I would say you've made a better choice
Plenty of assistance on offer here, most of you're questions are probably already answered here somewhere but don't be affraid to ask if you can't find or need quick response. There's always someone online even if they aren't posting.
    See ya around,

Check out RSW V4 Kit on their website. I have it and it works so much better than the original suite plus gives you access to many more features.
It also makes calibrating EAS easier & quicker. I think Storey is also planning more features to add to the V4.
    All the best.

    Hi

    Welcome again

As far as diagnostics go, I would consider a nanocom evo because it will do everything you may ever need, the EMS, GearBox, HEVAC etc

When you say "this model", are you referring to the P38A? If so, I don't believe that is correct.

I suggest a Nanocom. Keep an eye on the Markets, one will pop up. (There are several currently listed.)

Once you have the unit, if it doesn't have the P38A software, you can purchase it. I had one for my P38A.

Other options are the OmiTec and Autodiagnos - see TECHNICAL from British Motor Imports at Mulgrave, NSW

Yes British car components had mentioned that P38a ( I dont know if they were distinguishing in any year models) was a different system and that is not OBD2 compliant, however one may guess that the thor upgraded model could be an update to OBD2 compliant.

I just got the software from RSW so I will see how that goes, just waiting for a link via email to get it, hopfully gets my EAS working
