    harmon kardon subwoofer

I have a harmon kardon system in the 2000 HSE. I pulled the speakers as they were shot, I am not sure about repairing them and would rather replace them with new ones, there are no markings at all and searches had shown they are likely 4ohms and unknown watts. Can anyone confirm the impedance and power of these units? Also if anyone knows of replacements to buy that would be helpful

    cheers

been scouring my history for hours on end but I can't find the original article anymore, but I did find this way back

    6W3v3-4 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - W3v3 - JL Audio

I must have searched these as I found them in an article somewhere. They fit perfectly and iirc they should work well (enough) in our sub enclosures. Perhaps your google-fu is better than mine and you can find the original article

In any case, they are 4 ohms and the specs for sub volume are pretty much bang on so this should work just fine it's just that they are rated for more power (50 - 150 watts)

    Cheers,
    -P

PS I might give them a try as well since my DLS are not cutting it.

Yup, there are not cheap mate. It's what holds me back as well.

Reconing is of course the other option, if the speaker coils have not been damaged due to misalignment it is definately worth a go. It'll be cheaper than new. I have had all my mid-tones done (4 in the car, one spare) since they also always fail but it cost me a whopping 600 AUD (materials + labour) so this was not cheap either.

did mine a few months ago, 2 new speakers from jaycar cut to fit. I wasn't after the pinnacle of audio quality, but am quite impressed at how reasonable they sound.
