    Rear AUX 12V socket

I was hooking up my fridge in the rear to the 12v AUX socket and have crossed the wires and blown the thing. I cant find the fuse and have changed the R7 relay. The manual does not point at a fuse, in any case I have checked all fuses in both boxes. Im going away on a trip tomorrow and would like this thing working. Does anyone know where to find the fuse or blow out point for this?

I can't remember if my 1995 model had a rear socket apart from the two I installed myself. I can't find one in the early P38A ETM.

2000 onward: Fuse F8 in the BECM under the driver's seat?

Yes I changed that one also to no avail. Does the becm have any internal fuses or relays that can be changed?

I've never opened up a BECM.

If F8 is OK, is the cigar lighter in the centre console working?

Hmm, not according to the ETM. Wiring burnt out or poor connection at the socket?

Pull the panel out and check the voltage at the back of the socket.

Neither of my p38's have/had a rear socket.
Pull the panel and hope they fused it close to either end.
Anything attached to battery end? I'd like to think a high amp power socket was wired right back to battery.
There is not much rhs of boot area to steal power from, unless yours has the satnav option. Lhs has all the audio stuff, cd player and amp etc. Does that still work?

There is one shown in the ETM for 2000 onwards, maybe some 1999 models.

Yes it is a standard plug that came with the car, the wires do not seem very thick so perhaps 5 amps max. I also found another wire in the opposite panel, it has an unused plug which has a negative, a perminant positive when the ignition is off, and another positive that is off when the ignition is off, I have wired a small harness into the non perminant wire so I dont drain the battery when the car is not running, but with a dual battery setup the other wire would be nice. In any case I did cross the wires and it burned out so quickly it was very fuse like not really melting wire like
