Any compressor will generate heat which is why bigger ones have cooling fins like an air cooled engine.
Hello Gents/Ladies..
Having recently rebuilt my entire EAS system.
EAS Valveblock rebuild
New EAS compressor - Due to replacement dunlop pump failing spectacularly!
New Height sensor which caused a "valve stuck fault" quite irritating that!
And having checked all lines she is 100% air tight!
However my paranoia after a raft of EAS faults seems to have latched onto the EAS compressor and it's running temps..
After a good drive the compressor is usually quite warm, I can hold it with my hand but it isn't "cold" other times it can be hot to the point extended contact with my hand will cause discomfort, I ran an IR thermo over the compressor after a few up and down cycles and it was at 68c..
Am I being a nutter expecting it to stay cool?
Or it it just paranoia?!

nah it won't stay cool mate. I do not know the temps on mine since I never measured them but close to that hot V8 and doing a lot of hard work I reckon 68c is not that uncommon.

A Compressor pumping air will always be hotter than you expect. An Air con or refrigeration comp not so much because of the gas Cooling effect.

So the consensus is it'll almost always be quite warm under normal operating conditions..![]()
I'm guessing they get quite hot in the engine bay in Australia lol your winters are like my summer!!![]()
Just some left over paranoia after it leaving me on the stops a good few times!

On the other hand, since it is my health we are talking about, LR should be paying ME 30% rebate or smth...![]()
