Hi Pete,
Have you dropped the sump and undone the 2 bolts that hold the oil pickup tube to the front cover?
Regards,
Alan
Hi all, I'm having lots of fun replacing the front cover oil seal and gasket, along with the sump gasket and water pump on my Thor 4.6 V8.
It's been interesting to say the least!
I could not budge the crank shaft pulley bolt for the life of me until I got a new impact wrench and it was off in 2 seconds.
I have everything off and ready to remove the front cover, but I just cant get it to budge.
I've checked three times all the bolts are removed, all connections are removed, I've tried tapping from underneath, on top, from the side, it just won't come loose.
Also tried tapping a scredriver on the edge, still no joy.
I don't want to go too hard as it's aluminium, does anyone have any tips for this?
Thanks, Pete.

Thanks Alan, yes, have the sump off and all cleaned up, as well as the oil pickup pipe.
Have checked everything is removed.
I thought it would come off fairly easily after everything was removed.
It's a bit awkward trying to get a good clear shot at tapping it off.
You won't believe it, went out this morning and gave it a couple of taps and it came off just like that!
I think I was being a bit too cautious last night.
All good, onto cleaning all the parts up and start reinstalling things now.
Thanks for your help Alan.
Hi Pete,
All good Mate.
Alan
