Ha ha havent had it long enough to think like that. Can lock with key from outside. Lock/ barrel seems a bit sloppy when i have tried to enter EKA. doesnt flip back to centre bit worn i think. Is it possible to get one from wreckers and change over? Thought about that and called wreckers yesterday to have him talk me out of it. When i have back passenger side unlocked using key from outside will lock it.

As Mjs suggested, it is possibly a worn drivers door latch, sometimes it's a process of elimination, but that would be a possible culprit and a good place to start.
They do funny things when they are on the way out, mine was locking and unlocking the doors on it's own while driving, specially in warmer weather.
Then it started unlocking itself while parked, which is not good.
I wouldn't bother with a second hand one, a new one will last for years.
Not a particularly hard job, it's a bit fiddly in the confined space of the door, but very doable yourself.
Good opportunity to lubricate the inside working parts of the lock too.

I found a you tube vid that might help

Sounds like he had an issue with his Becm, I'd just do the latch as a first step if it were me.

My favorite place in Melbourne for parts is British Car Components in Nth Melb, I have been a customer there for 20 years, they really know what they are talking about.
There is also a place near you in Hoppers Crossing, Matar Motors, 49 Industrial Ave, Hoppers Crossing.
I've never tried them, but they are very close to you.
I think they do a lot of second hand parts, but they may do new as well.

I think you are referring to the outstation in the door cavity, that should be fine, I would guess it's the latch, they are a common failure point, that's what I'd do first if it was my car.
If you are referring to the becm, that is the computer under the seat, again, I'd just leave that and focus on the latch first.

I recently got a head torch, they make life so much easier, specially for jobs like that latch, as the light is always shining where you need it.

Thanks once again. Might try company in nth melb. Matar motors is ok recently bought a switchpack for windows from him. Head torches are good i do a lot of fishing. Very handy. Is it the handle that recognises or syncs the key. Apparently spring in handle/lock goes after a hundred thousand k's. Have to get key spot on when entering EKA. Going to get diagnostics done in next couple of days to try and pinpoint exact fault. See how i go. Cheers.
