    P38 Power Steering Query

I'm fitting a range rover P38 steering box to my dormobile which has a 200tdi defender motor fitted, I'm hoping that somebody can point me in the right direction with connecting the hoses.

The power steering fluid bottle has 2 different size outlets, my question is which outlet should be used for the pipe from the steering box to the bottle ?? Small or large

I'm making up mock pipework so I can then get proper hoses made to suit the vehicle

    Thanks in advance

Escalated from Rave to Dave, the later being more knowledgeable.

usually the larger outlet is suction to the pump and the smaller is the return from the box.

look in from the top, depending on the reservoir one may have a large mesh screen over it and the other a diffuser.

the one with the mesh screen is the suction and the one with the diffuser is the return.

if you only have the 2 holes visible from the top the larger goes to the pump.

Could be knowledge, could be a guess, just remember my one true talent in life is keeping people wondering where the skill stopped and the luck began
